Five Home Decor Tips for Under Ten Dollars
63Decorating your home doesn’t have to be expensive. Your home should reflect you as an individual; your likes, dislikes, and more. Your home should tell a story with pictures on the wall, color on the windows, the type of furniture you like, even the area rugs you selected.
Here are five simple ways to decorate your home under ten dollars.
Tip #1: Pillows
Pillows are entirely versatile. A home isn’t a home without them. Pillows can go in chairs, sofas, or even on the floor. You can buy or make as many as you want to. Pillows that are little and go in the living room for mainly decor are called throw pillows. They cost just a few dollars new and you can buy one at a time. They come in many different colors, shapes, and sizes so you are bound to find what you are looking for to match your decor.
Tip #2: Curtains
There are so many ways to make a pair of curtains. You can use pillowcases to make simple valances. Simply cut along the seam and sew a pocket for the rod. You can also use sheets to do the same. Sometimes when you buy a sheet set, you are not happy with it once you put it on the bed. Instead of wasting the sheet on the floor when you paint or to cover something out doors use them to make curtains. One sheet can make panels for your windows. You chose that pattern or that color because you liked it now you can create a look for your windows that will match your decor.
Tip #3: Plants
Every room in your home would benefit from plants. You can add plants that are real or you can go to places like Wal-Mart to find a plant that never needs watering. You can also look for artificial trees that can be placed indoors to make the room look better. Decorate your room according to your flower.
Tip #4: area rugs
Never forget to decorate the floors in every room. You have so many different rugs to choose from in the store today but to decorate your room, you don’t need to buy a new one, simply borrow from another room in your home. For example, if you have a floral area rug in the dining room and blue rugs in the living room you can trade them out for the spring season. Area rugs are very versatile in home decor.
Tip #5: Photos
Instead of paying thousands of dollars for a masterpiece of a place you have never been to, take a walk with a digital camera and capture the things that you like to look at the most. You can capture a sunset with a beautiful orange color or a bird eating from the bird feeder in the back yard. Everyday, there is a perfect picture that you can take so carry around your camera and get ready to take a picture. Once you have taken your pictures, you can take them to a store that has a photo center, like Wal-Mart, and have your picture blown up to an 8x10. Frame it and hang it on your wall for a priceless masterpiece.
